Preparing for BMC Application Diagnostics Server installation
The following topics provide information about preparing your environment before installing the BMC Application Diagnostics Server.
Preinstallation tasks for the BMC Application Diagnostics Server
- Ensure that your computer meets the system requirement. See System-requirements.
- Ensure that the user who is installing BMC Application Diagnostics has Root privileges (for Linux) and Administrator privileges (for Windows). See User-permissions.
- Ensure that you have the host name, port, root user password, and installation directory of your MySQL 5.5 database. See Planning worksheets.
- Ensure that you have set your MySQL 5.5 database server packet size to 16M (max_allowed_packet=16M).
- Ensure that you have downloaded the required installation files. See Downloading-the-installation-files.
