Preparing for BMC Application Diagnostics Agent installation

This topic provides information about preparing your environment before installing the BMC Application Diagnostics Agent.

The BMC Application Diagnostics Server must be installed before installing the BMC Application Diagnostics Agent. See BMC-Application-Diagnostics-Server-installation.

The computer on which you are installing the BMC Application Diagnostics Agent must have Java already installed in order for the BMC Application Diagnostics Agent installation script to run correctly. Set JAVA_HOME to the top level directory of your Java installed and used by the Application Server. Ensure that the JAVA_HOME environment variable is configured with Java 1.5 or above.

Ensure that you have the following Agent installation files downloaded:

  • For Windows
    • adops-agent-install.bat
    • agentInstaller.jar
  • For Linux
    • adops-agent-install.sh
    • agentInstaller.jar
