Modifying a Collector policy file

Error
Warning

BMC recommends modifying only the portal.heartbeat.interval parameter.

Modifying any other parameter value in the Collector policy file can have a sizable impact on the footprint of BMC Application Diagnostics Agent and the BMC Application Diagnostics Collector’s scalability and database size. BMC recommends consulting with BMC Application Diagnostics support before changing any of the parameter values.

To modify the portal.heartbeat.interval parameter

  1. From the Diagnostics tab, click Administration > Collector Policies. The Collector Policies screen is displayed.
  2. Click the arrow menu in the far right of the line in which the policy appears, and select Edit.
  3. Modify the portal.heartbeat.interval parameter, which defines the time, in seconds, to wait between heartbeats. A heartbeat indicates a connection between the BMC Application Diagnostics Portal and the BMC Application Diagnostics Collector. The default value is 300 seconds (5 minutes).

    portal.heartbeat.interval=300
