Working with Recording Profiles

A Recording Profile is a configuration file with instructions for the Black Box on which applications and operations to record. The recording includes the following:

  • User operations and visual screen captures taking place during a recording session.
  • System application specific operations and system performance information.
  • Code function calls, variable values, stack, exceptions and more.
  • Applications to record - set the Recording Profile with the troubled applications and processes
  • Operations to record - set the Recording Profile with the problematic operations
  • Operational behaviour of the Black Box to record - set the Recording Profile with instructions per the recording output

In order to create a Recording Profile (see also What-makes-a-good-Recording-Profile):

  1. List the applications and processes that the Black Box will record.
  2. Select the operations the Black Box will record, and set Alerts for the Black Box to invoke.
  3. Define Black Box and Recording Profile recording properties.

For further information, see Defining the Recording Profile.
