Pre-selected operations and alerts
BMC AppSight provides a set of predefined Recording Profile files (with an .rpr extension) containing pre-selected operations in accordance with the proposed usage of each Recording Profile.
For example, the default Recording Profile, Server Troubleshoot.rpr, comprises sets of the following pre-selected operations:
- .NET Remoting Networking
- COM Operations Notifications
- DB Operations Process Operations
- File Operations Registry
- IIS Operations Start/Stop Process operations
- Library Operations
When running a Black Box, for example, you can change any Operations (and/or other Black Box Recording Profile properties) on the fly; save the changes to a renamed Recording Profile file; or choose and apply another Recording Profile with different operation selections, to the Black Box.
To define alerts for a specific operation or group of operations selected in the main pane of the Operations tab, you use the Alert buttons above the Alerts List in the bottom right pane.
You can add new alerts to the Alerts list; edit alerts in the Alerts List; and delete alerts from the Alerts List.
You can define alerts and alert conditions for an individual operation or groups of Operations. An alert triggers an action.
