Recording the application

Having defined the Recording Profile, you can now run the Black Box to start recording the application and to create a log. You can control the Black Box from the BMC AppSight Console, and perform the following tasks:

• Starting a recording (see Starting to record)
• Stopping the recording (see Stopping the recording)
• Saving the recorded sessions into a log (see Saving the recorded sessions into a log)
• Attaching applications to record (see Adding (attaching) applications and processes)
• Viewing the status of Black Box recordings (see Status of Black Box recordings)
• Recording sample test applications (see Sample test applications)

You can also record applications using the Black Box in standalone mode. See Recording with Black Boxes in standalone mode for further information.
