BMC AppSight for Windows can be installed on a distributed environment. By default, the communication between BMC AppSight components is done over DCOM, and is easily configurable. Communication can also be performed through HTTP/HTTPS.

Note that communication between the AppSight System Console and the AppSight Server is via DCOM only. Other components can use DCOM or HTTP/HTTPS, as suitable for your environment.

Note

Make sure you can connect to your machine over the network and that there are no name resolution issues (it resolves to the correct IP address).
