Uninstalling BMC AppSight components


Once you have selected which BMC AppSight component(s) you wish to uninstall, an InstallShield Wizard Setup Status window commences the uninstall process.

To uninstall and remove BMC AppSight components:

  • After selecting the relevant AppSight component, the InstallShield starts the uninstalling process. Note that the process is the same for all AppSight components, except for the AppSight System.
    • BMC AppSight System: When selecting the AppSight System, you are first prompted to choose whether to Modify or Remove the installation. When selecting Remove, the InstallShield process starts uninstalling each of the components. If a Black Box or AppSight Server are also installed, you will be prompted to remove each.

      If you want to modify the installation, such as adding or removing specific components, select Modify and refer to Modifying a BMC AppSight installation.
    • All other BMC AppSight components: After confirming you want to remove the component, the InstallShield process starts uninstalling. Follow all InstallShield and BMC AppSight message instructions to complete the uninstall. Note that only the AppSight System installation can be modified; all other components can only be removed.

      Be sure to close all running AppSight components, including closing applications that may have been recorded by a Black Box in the last recording session.
