Step 1 - The Install Service

The BMC AppSight Install Service is installed automatically as part of the System suite installation (see Installing the BMC AppSight for Windows System) and can also be installed as a standalone component. To run the Install Service, from the System Console menu bar click Install => BMC AppSight Install Service.

The BMC Install Service installs and launches BMC AppSight Windows Black Boxes and Servers on other machines. You cannot install or uninstall or run any Black Boxes or AppSight Servers from the Console without this component.

When you deploy a Black Box or an AppSight Server, the Installer first checks if BMC AppSight Install Service is installed on the target computer. If not, the BMC AppSight Install Service is installed as a part of the regular installation over the network. However, if you want to install it as a standalone component, click Install => BMC AppSight Install Service from the AppSight System Console.
