HTTP Client Mode

The HTTP Client mode takes place wherever there is a connection between the Black Box and AppSight Server. Deployed on such an environment, the AppSight Black Box is installed on a typical Client computer.

To connect the AppSight Black Box to the AppSight Server in an HTTP Client mode:

1. Right-click the Black Box icon in the system tray and select Connect to AppSight Server. The Connect to Server screen opens.
2. Type the AppSight Server URL (example: http://machine_name/AppSightProxy/wlproxy.dll) in the URL Name field.
3. Select HTTP Client Mode from the Black Box Mode area.
4. Click Connect. The screen is closed.
    AppSight Black Box is now connected to AppSight Server in an HTTP Client mode.
   
   

Troubleshooting the HTTP Connectivity

If connecting the Web Black Box in HTTP Client Mode to the AppSight Server results in an error message, do the following:

1. Shut down (restart) BMC AppSight and restart IIS.
2. Enter <AppSight Server URL> (example: /AppSightProxy/WLproxy.dll?StartFromBBX ) into the browser address bar.
3. Run the Black Box and connect it to the AppSight Server.
