HTTP Connection between Black Box and AppSight Server

Deploying AppSight Black Box over the web is used in situations where DCOM is disabled by the local IT security policy. The Black Box deployment type depends on the available connectivity from the Black Box to AppSight Server:

  • HTTP-Client-Mode - AppSight Black Box connects to AppSight Server via HTTP, where AppSight Server is installed on a machine with IIS.
  • HTTP-Server-Mode - AppSight Black Box is installed on a computer with IIS also installed which is open to incoming requests.
