Configuring Black Box Access Permissions


BMC AppSight enables users to work with the following permissions:

  • Read - viewing-only of the log file
  • Execute - Read permissions, as well as running the Black Box
  • Modify - Read and Execute permissions, as well as changing the Recording Profile's properties
  • Full Control - all above permissions, as well as changing the server properties

To configure Black Box access permissions:

  1. Right-click the BMC AppSight Server in the Black Box pane and select BMC AppSight Server Properties. The AppSight Server <Host server name> Properties window opens.
  2. Click Black Box access permissions. The Black Box List screen opens, displaying all the Black Boxes connected to the AppSight Server.
  3. Click Edit. The <server name> Properties screen opens.
  4. Select User authorization for Black Box connection.
  5. Click Edit. The Permissions for <server name> screen opens.
  6. Select user names from the top pane and apply the relevant permissions to each.
  7. Click OK repeatedly to close all screens and return to the Black Box pane.
