Saving Perspectives

Another option when upgrading or reinstalling your version of BMC AppSight is to save any Perspectives (the custom views you can create withing the AppSight System Console). This ensures that any customized windows you may have created will be available after installation/reinstallation in the new Console.

To save Perspectives:

  1. Select View => Perspective => Save Perspective from the AppSight Console menu. The Save As dialog box is displayed.
  2. Specify a name and location for the exported file and click Save. An .xml file is generated.

To load previously saved Perspectives:

  1. Select View => Perspective => Load Perspective from the AppSight Console menu. The Open dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select the relevant Perspective file (in .xml format) and click Open. The Perspective is displayed in the Console.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
