Importing the BMC Helix Dashboards for monitoring


The BMC Helix Dashboards provide you with a consolidated view of data from applications across your monitored environment, which helps you to quickly respond to issues and thus prevent system downtime.  

Use the information to import the dashboards on the observability stack for monitoring on-premises BMC Helix IT Operations Management.

To import the BMC Helix Dashboards for monitoring

  1. Make sure you downloaded Self-Monitoring-V25.2.zip file from mft.bmc.com
    The dashboards are available at self-monitoring/dashboards. All dashboard files have the extension .json.

  2. Log in to BMC Helix Portaland go to BMC Helix Dashboards.
  3. At the top left corner, click the hamburger icon and select Dashboards.

  4. From the New list, select New Folder

  5. Create a new folder with the name BMC-Self-Monitoring.
  6. Go to the BMC-Self-Monitoring folder.

  7. At the top right corner, from the Dashboard2c.pnglist, select Import dashboard.

  8. Click Upload dashboard JSON files(s), browse for the dashboard files, select the files, and click Load.

  9. To change the data source for the dashboard, perform the following steps:
    1. Click in the Import via dashboard JSON model box.

    2. From the BMC Helix list, select the default BMC Helix Dashboards.

    3. Click Import.
  10. Go to the BMC-Self-Monitoring folder and confirm that you successfully imported the required dashboards.

  11. Select a dashboard to view it.
    Example:

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
