Downloading the deployment manager


Download the deployment manager and the token to access container images from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) site. You can access the container images in the BMC public cloud by using the token.

To download the deployment manager and token

  1. Log in to EPD by using your Support user ID and password.
    You might be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form.
    If you are accessing this site for the first time, create a new EPD profile to specify the languages and platforms that you want to download. For assistance with EPD, see EPD site help.

  2. Download the deployment manager helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-<release_version>.sh, the hotfix itom-drs-predeploy-hotfix-23.2.02.002-2, or the hotfix itom-predeploy-hotfix-23.2.02.002-6 to a temporary directory.

    The following table lists the prerequisites to apply the hotfixes:

    Download and apply the hotfix itom-drs-predeploy-hotfix-23.2.02.002-2 to prevent the certificate issue caused when OpenSSL fails to pull the client root certificate.

    1.24.x – 1.26.x

    itom-predeploy-hotfix-23.2.02.002-6

    itom-predeploy-hotfix-23.2.02.002-6 is a cumulative hotfix.
    Download and apply this hotfix if you want to use Kubernetes version 1.26 and
    prevent the certificate issue caused when OpenSSL fails to pull the client root certificate.

  3. Run the following command to change the permission of the downloaded file:

    chmod a+x helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-<release_version>.sh
  4. Run the following command to make the helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-<release_version>.sh file an executable:

    ./helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-23.2.02.sh

  5. Accept the license agreement when prompted.
  6. Download the container-token.bmc file containing the Docker token.

We recommend that you install the products or components from a local copy of the installation image and not from a network drive. Installing from a network drive can cause delays in completing the installation.
