Updated Kubernetes version support

Kubernetes version 1.24.x is now supported. For information about other system requirements, see System-requirements.

Restricted Security Context Constraints support

On the OpenShift platform, the Restricted Security Context Constraints (SCC) is supported for BMC Helix IT Operations Management. With this feature:

The Cluster Admin role is no longer required to deploy the product and the infrastructure services. However, you will need the Cluster Admin role to deploy Fluentd that is required for BMC Helix Logging (ElasticSearch, Fluentd, and Kibana).
The Role and RoleBinding must be created and associated with the Service Account.. For more information, see Configuration-file-settings.
On the Kubernetes platform, the Project Admin role is sufficient to deploy BMC Helix IT Operations Management.

Support for Patroni PostgreSQL Server

The Patroni PostgreSQL Server is now supported. The Bitnami PostgreSQL Server is no longer supported.

For instructions on migrating your data from the Bitnami to Patroni PostgreSQL Server, see Upgrading-BMC-Helix-IT-Operations-Management.

Automated database migration tool

While upgrading the product to version 22.4, you can use the automated database migration tool to migrate the Bitnami PostgreSQL Server to the Patroni PostgreSQL server.

Deployment of just the required services

When you deploy specific components, for example ITSM Insights, the infra services related only to that component are deployed. No other infra services are deployed.

Support for deployment in an Azure Kubernetes Service cluster

You can deploy BMC Helix IT Operations Management in an Azure Kubernetes Service cluster. For more information, see Deploying-BMC-Helix-IT-Operations-Management-in-an-Azure-Kubernetes-Service-cluster.
