Starting and stopping discovery
When you start the discovery process, any runs that are on hold or waiting start the transition to In progress status. If a run is on hold but outside its scheduled window, it does not start.
When you stop the discovery process, any open, snapshot or scheduled runs in progress stop. The status changes to Stopping while the discovery process is stopping.
To start the discovery process
- From the main menu, click Manage > Discovery.
The Discovery Status page is displayed. - Click START ALL SCANS.
The screen is automatically refreshed to show the status of the discovery process.
To stop the discovery process
- From the main menu, click Manage > Discovery.
The Discovery Status page is displayed. - Click STOP ALL SCANS.
No more runs are started, and the discovery process attempts to stop all commands that are running. After the run has stopped, no more runs are performed until you start the discovery process.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
