Viewing log files


BMC Helix Discovery enables you to access logs to help you diagnose problems with CMDB-synchronization and writing patterns. You can watch logfiles in the BMC Helix Discovery UI, or you can download them to analyze on your local computer.

To view or download the logs

  1. From the main menu, click the Administration icon.
    The 
    Administration page opens.
  1. In the Instance section, select Logs.
    The Logs page is displayed.

  2. Each log has links in the Actions column that enable you to watch or to download the log.
    • To watch a log, click the Watch link in the Actions column. The log is displayed in an automatically updated page. If there is no Watch link, the log is not present.

    • To download a log, from the Logs page, click the Download link in the Actions column. The log is downloaded to your system for you to view or analyze.


 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
