Product Content TKU 2022-Sep-1

Technology-Knowledge-Update-TKU-2022-Sep-1 contains the following additional product content for the BMC Discovery 12.0, 20.08, 21.05, 21.3, 22.1, and 22.2 series.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. When product content is added, the appliance is restarted as part of the update. You are given the opportunity to prevent the restart, though if you do so, none of the knowledge content will be installed.

Feature updates

The following features were updated or introduced in Product Content 2022-Sep-1: 

  1. CLOUD/OCI: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: Compartments are now fully discovered. For details see (DRDC1-19524).
  2. CLOUD/AWS: New cloud inventory pattern for AWS Workspaces. For details see (DRDC1-19358).
  3. CLOUD/AWS: 'dns_aliases' attribute added to CloudFront service. For details see (DRDC1-16780).
  4. CLOUD/AWS: Added listener_rules := discovery.AWS.ELBv2.DescribeRules to AmazonWebServices.ELBv2. For details see (DRDC1-19153).
  5. CLOUD/AWS: In the visualization: add a relationship between VirtualMachine and Organisation Units. 
  6. CLOUD: More debug log details added to GCP IAP discovery. For details see (DRDC1-19299).
  7. STORAGE: Added "Overall Efficiency Ration to One Hundred" and "Compression Ratio to One Hundred" new attributes to EMC Symmetrix, CLARiiON and VNX storage systems discovery. For details see (DRDC1-16931).
  8. PRODUCT: Cyberark UI REST API access method supports CCP. For details see (DRUD1-37979).
  9. PRODUCT: Enhanced OpenShift Discovery with ResourceQuota. For details see, (DRDC1-19046).
  10. PRODUCT: Updated BeyondTrust remote support authentication method. For details see, (DRDC1-18134).

Defects

The following defects were fixed in Product Content 2022-Sep-1: 

  1. CLOUD/AMAZON: Amazon DynamoDB Database node running directly on CloudService does not expand or visualize in UI visualization. For details see (DRDC1-19632).
  2. PRODUCT: tw_support_tool does not always find the max number of DR running in //. For details see (DRDC1-19672, DRUD1-38288).
  3. CLOUD/AZURE: The subscription name is added to the region and the service name is not updated. For details see (DRDC1-19658).
  4. CLOUD: RuleError on rule tpl_InferVirtualMachines_body_6. For details see (DRDC1-19625).
  5. CLOUD/AWS: RuleError on rule tpl_InferLoadBalancers_body_6. For details see (DRDC1-19624).
  6. CLOUD: ADDM only discovers 100 instances of AWS Lambda Function per AWS account. For details see (DRDC1-19417).
  7. PRODUCT: Change SafeGuard to Safeguard on UI. For details see (DRUD1-38313).
  8. PRODUCT: Sonatype Fast-Track process issue. For details see (DRUD1-38349).
  9. CLOUD/AWS: Cloud Providers page is broken. For details see (DRDC1-19629).
  10. CLOUD: GCP discovery logs "file_cache is only supported with oauth2client<4.0.0" repeatedly. For details see (DRDC1-19604).


Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2022-Sep-1.

Model changes

  • Taxonomy has been updated to support the relationship between VirtualMachine and OrganisationalUnit/Location. For details, see (DRDC1-19321).
  • Taxonomy has been updated to support the relationship between Namespace and Detail Node. For details, see (DRDC1-19046).
