Product Content TKU 2021-Dec-1

Technology Knowledge Update TKU 2021-Dec-1 contains the following additional product content for the BMC Discovery 12.0, 20.08, 21.05, and 21.3 series.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. When product content is added, the appliance is restarted as part of the update. You are given the opportunity to prevent the restart, though if you do so, none of the knowledge content will be installed.

Feature updates

The following features were updated or introduced in Product Content 2021-Dec-1: 

  1. CLOUD/AZURE: new inventory pattern for Azure Data Explorer. For details, see (DRDC1-16740).
  2. CLOUD/AZURE: new inventory pattern for Azure Synapse. For details, see (DRDC1-16736).
  3. CLOUD/ALIBABA: cloud discovery now works with a Proxy. For details, see (DRDC1-17726).
  4. CLOUD/GCP: Support for the new region: "europe-west5". For details, see (DRDC1-17667).
  5. SOFTWARE: NutanixBlock module table of hardware has been enhanced. For details, see (DRDC1-17780).
  6. VAULT: Adding support for namespaces for HashiCorp Vault Enterprise edition. For details, see (DRUD1-34778).
  7. STORAGE: Add support for IBM DS8000 Credentials. For details, see (DRDC1-17411).


Defects

The following defects were fixed in Product Content 2021-Dec-1: 

  1. CLOUD:AWS: Accounts discovery limitation released (ListAccounts response now handles paginated results). For details, see (DRDC1-17688).
  2. CLOUD/AWS: Accounts discovery and roles switches scans have been combined (only one scan is required). For details, see (DRDC1-117642).
  3. CLOUD/AWS: ECA error on Amazon Web Services config pattern fixed. For details, see (DRDC1-17770).
  4. CLOUD/AWS: boto3/botocore related Traceback thrown during performing discovery run fixed. For details, see (DRUD1-30371).
  5. SOFTWARE: VCSA scan via center: Missing link between the VCSA and the ESX running it. For details, see (DRUD1-35045).
  6. HOST: FreeBSD before 10 no longer gets packages. For details, see (DRDC1-17706).
  7. HOST: NetBSD HostInfo script specifies the wrong path for dmidecode. For details, see (DRDC1-17634).
  8. HOST: Local and Remote filesystems are now connected with NFS Servers. For details, see (DRUD1-34966).
  9. ADE: BHOM Linux and other OS patterns are broken by remote monitoring. For details, see (DRDC1-17869).
  10. ADE: BHOM Linux host identification finds many docker candidates. For details, see (DRDC1-17916).
