Product Content TKU 2018-Jul-1

BMC Discovery Technology Knowledge Update 2018-Jul-1 contains the following additional product content for the BMC Discovery 11.3 and 11.2 series:

Product content updates require appliance restart

When product content is added, the appliance is restarted as part of the update. You are given the opportunity to prevent the restart, though if you do so, none of the knowledge content will be installed.

Feature updates

  • Discovery of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) was introduced for current release. (DRUD1-21788)

  • Support of Hitachi peripherals such as Secondary Controllers and cabinets was added to July release. (DRDC1-8877)
  • Added HardwareContainers node to Hitachi GSeries pattern. (DRDC1-11138)
  • Added CMDB sync mapping for HardwareContainer. (DRUD1-23506)

Other defects

The following additional defects were resolved in Product Content 2018-Jul-1:

  • Fixed normalization issue in CMDB for Jenkins pattern by adding "Jenkins Project" publisher name attribute. (DRDC1-11558)
  • Impact loops with Multi-Facet relationships. (DRUD1-22699)
  • BAI containing only Hosts is not synced. (DRUD1-22876)
  • ManagementAddress set incorrectly. (DRUD1-22907)
  • Request to set OwnerName properly. (DRUD1-23054)
  • External SoftwareContainers confusingly shown in sync preview. (DRUD1-23075 )
  • VirtualMachines in OpenStack can be shared. (DRUD1-23091)
  • Request to sync the 'Managed Host Containers' on a NetworkDevice to the CMDB. (DRUD1-20017)
  • Stack Switches discovery generates duplicates in the CMDB. (DRDC1-11211)
  • Cloud Load Balancer sync issue. (DRDC1-11389)

Changes to discovery commands

No changes have been made to the discovery commands in this TKU release.

Key changes

In order to fix defect DRDC1-11211 "Stack Switches discovery generates duplicates in the CMDB" the keys for Cisco's FEX stack members NetworkDevices were changed.

Model changes

The following model changes have been introduced in this TKU release:

  • Cascade removal was implemented for Hardware Containers. (DRDC1-11537)
