The July 2013 TKU includes a change to the CMDB Sync mapping. After installing the July TKU, when you synchronize with the CMDB first time, all BMC_Database, BMC_SoftwareServer, BMC_ApplicationSystem, and BMC_Cluster CIs are updated and their TokenIds are set.

Release Compatibility

TKU 2013-Jul-1 is released in two streams:

  • Release compatible with BMC Atrium Discovery 8.3 series
  • Release compatible with BMC Atrium Discovery 9.0 series

Note

TKU July (TKU 2013-Jul-1) is not compatible with nor supported on versions of BMC Atrium Discovery before v8.3.00

ISS03991289

QM001771903

Problem: CMDB sync failed to create a relationship between second-order SI and its contained SI. SoftwareInstance maps to BMC_SoftwareServer or BMC_ApplicationSystem, depending upon whether it is first-order or second-order SI. CMDB.SoftwareInstance_Containment CDM mapping currently handles first-order SI only. Solution: CMDB.SoftwareInstance_Containment CDM mapping will handle first-order and second-order SI.

ISS04096044, ISS04119398

QM001783964

Problem: CMDB sync patterns that map some Atrium Discovery node attributes to Atrium CMDB CI sometimes does not set unique enough values for ADDM RE Identification Rules to identify these. This regularly ends up in Duplicated CIs problems for BMC_Database, BMC_SoftwareServer, BMC_ApplicationSystem and BMC_Cluster CIs. Solution: TokenId is now populated for these CIs with unique enough values.

ISS04151363

QM001794178

Problem: Support Details information for Windows Server 2012 is not being linked to hosts identified as running Windows Server 2012 Solution: An issue in the way Atrium Discovery OS classifier was setting the version of Windows Server 2012 which prevented the Support Detail node to be linked to the Host node has been resolved

#TKU-1798

Problem: IBM Rational Host On-Demand pattern can delete valid License Detail nodes Solution: Code fix.

-

#TKU-1843

BMC Impact Manager pattern now sets more granular product version to allow for mapping to Support Detail information

-

#TKU-1844

BMC Performance Assurance patterns now set more granular product version to allow for mapping to Support Detail information

-

#TKU-1880

Problem: Pattern in Oracle Transparent Gateways module that creates Detail nodes may fail to obtain the information on Windows platform due to incorrect creation of the path to access the data Solution: Code fix.

-

#TKU-1881

Patterns in the HP Data Protector module now normalize the version obtained using active versioning approach to ensure that the version is set uniformly. Mapping to product version has also been standardized to allow for successful linking to Support Detail nodes for the product.

-

#TKU-1886

Problem: Oracle Secure Enterprise Search pattern fails to create a communication relationship to a related Oracle Database SI due to an incorrect regular expression used in the datastore search query Solution: Code fix. Regular expression updated

-

#TKU-1882

Problem: Parallels Virtuozzo Containers pattern creates a 'vm_ip' attribute containing '--' characters if it cannot obtain the information to populate this attribute. This approach does not follow best practice - setting the attribute to an empty string. Solution: Code fix. The attribute will now be either set to an IP address if the data is obtained, or to an empty string otherwise.

-

#TKU-1840

Minor fix to a function attempting to obtain Oracle Database edition using elevated privileges

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
