Network Device and Printer Definitions - 2012-Jan-1

BMC Atrium Discovery Technology Knowledge Update 2012-Jan-1 for BMC Atrium Discovery 8.2 and 8.3 series includes updates to the Network Device Integration Module and associated Network Device definition files, enabling customers to obtain network device support in between the releases of BMC Atrium Discovery. It also embeds the OS Classifier definition files.

Compatibility

The network device integration piece of BMC Atrium Discovery Technology Knowledge Update 2012-Jan-1 is compatible with BMC Atrium Discovery version 8.2.01 and later.

Following customer incident where devices got overloaded, we will remove support for some Cisco Nexus 7k devices. The removed devices are Nexus 7000 (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.12.3.1.3.777) and Nexus 7010 (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.12.3.1.3.612). This can be seen as a very conservative approach but is in fact a temporary one. The Network Device Discovery redesign that has been done in ADDM 8.3 SP2 will prevent such an issue to occur again. Then the support for these devices will be reintroduced within ADDM 8.3 SP2.
