Issues that were corrected by 24.3 patch 1 and issues that remain open.

September 18, 2024

The following enhancements are available in this release of BMC Discovery:

  • Synchronization and consolidation of the inferred model is primarily to synchronize data from existing on-premises BMC Discovery appliances into the BMC Helix ecosystem, where other products, such as BMC Helix AIOPs, can use BMC Discovery's rich data.
  • Support for vCenter SSO authentication for VMware guest scanning. This removes the need for individual sets of VMware guest credentials for deep guest OS discovery.
  • Automatic discovery of cloud-based Kubernetes clusters occurs by default when you scan your supported cloud services.
  • Select and export any combination of credentials from the credentials page and export single credentials or the entire credentials vault.
  • Management endpoints in the REST API to automate common setup tasks.
  • An administrative user can delete queries saved by other users.
  • The Visual Query Builder supports queries with parameters, and copying selected columns when you create a query.
  • A Prescan IPs option allows you to scan ranges that you know contain many network devices that do not respond to prescans and are not added to full scans. The scan returns NoResponse DAs for dark space but successfully detects everything else.
  • TPL template files are provided for sync mapping extensions for Azure services.

Note

You can upgrade to version 24.3 (14.1) from version 12.3 or later. For information about the upgrade, see Upgrading.

The BMC Documentation portal gives you the ability to generate PDF and Microsoft Word documents of single pages, and to create PDF exports of multiple pages in a space.

You can create a PDF of a page or a set of pages. (Non-English page exports are not supported.) You can also create a Word document of the current page.

To export to PDF or Word

  1. From the Export menu in the upper-right, select a format:
    • Export to PDF to export the current page or a set of pages to PDF
    • Export to Word to export the current page to Word format
      export_format.png

  2. If exporting to PDF, select what you want to export:
    • Only this page to export the current page
    • This page and its children to export a set of pages

For example, selecting This page and its children from the home page exports the entire space to PDF.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
