Setting the appliance identification

Changing the appliance hostname

Change the appliance hostname using the General Settings > Change Hostname options in the Tideway Appliance Network Administration Shell. For more information, see the netadmin user account.

The netadmin user is the preferred way of configuring networking

The preferred way of administering any of the appliance network configuration is to use the netadmin user account. The netadmin user account enables you to change network, hostname, and gateway settings without requiring root privileges. You can also use the netadmin user to reboot the appliance.

Viewing the appliance identification

You can view or set details of the appliance identity, support information (displayed in the Help list on each BMC Discovery page), and read-only information about the appliance software and hardware configuration. This includes information about whether the appliance is correctly specified for its intended use.
