An SNMP scan fails
Scope
This issue impacts all versions of BMC Discovery
Resolution
Check the error messages and search for them in the Knowledge Base.
Error messages typically appear in:
- the DiscoveryAccess page. For example: NoResponse, NoAccess, UnsupportedDevice
- the discovery logs (tw_svc_discovery.log)
- the BMC Discovery Outpost logs (tw_svc_outpost.log)
Most of the time, it helps to:
- check the connectivity in case of NoResponse
- test the snmp credential in case of NoAccess
- request the support of new SNMP device in case of UnspportedDevice
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
