Model changes
This section describes the content model changes that were made in BMC Discovery 22.1. The following topics are covered in this section:
Nodes added
The following inferred node was added:
- HardwareComponent
- Optimize System
- TechnicalService
The following DDD nodes were added:
- DiscoveredCertificate
No new DDD nodes were added.
Nodes removed
No node kinds have been removed in BMC Discovery 22.1.
Pattern request relationship removed
The pattern request relationship has been removed. In previous releases, when a pattern performed discovery, a pattern request relationship Pattern:Request:DiscoverResult:DDD_node was added to the Pattern node. To prevent performance bottlenecks in some situations, the relationship is no longer created. Instead, a requesting_pattern attribute is added to the DDD node.
Some node list reports that used the pattern request relationship have been removed.
Existing pattern request relationships are not removed on upgrade, but are subsequently removed by DDD aging.
Taxonomy changes
The taxonomy is no longer stored in an XML file, it is now stored in a number of JSON files in directories beneath the following:
- /usr/tideway/data/installed/taxonomy/
- /usr/tideway/data/custom/taxonomy/
Previously, not all relationships in the taxonomy were displayed. With the new file format, and changes to the way that the information is processed, all relationships stored in the taxonomy are now displayed in the UI. In this respect, all nodes have changed. Rather than list all of the changes in this page, you should consult the taxonomy display in the BMC Discovery UI, and the individual node pages to see the nodes, attributes, relationships, and expressions available for each node kind.
