Changing the address of a machine
When a cluster is in use, it might be necessary to change the address used to access a machine. For example, you might have used IP addresses to access machines but would now like to use hostnames.
To change the address of a machine
- From the main menu, click the Administration icon.
The Administration page opens.
- In the Appliance section, click Cluster Management.
- From the Actions drop-down on the cluster machine row in the Current Members list, select Change Address.
The Change Member Address dialog is displayed. - Enter the new IP address or hostname into the Address field using one of the following formats:
- IPv4 address (for example 192.168.1.100). Labeled v4.
- IPv6 address (for example 2001:500:100:1187:203:baff:fe44:91a0). Labeled v6.
- Hostname (for example wilkoapp3.tideway.com). Labeled Hn.
- If you are changing the address of the machine whose UI you are using, click the additional Show Known Addresses to show all of the addresses that refer to this machine.
- Click on a displayed address to populate the Address field.
- Click OK to change the address.
This becomes a pending change that needs to be committed before the address is changed. - Click Commit Changes to change the address.
If the hostname or address entered does not refer to the correct machine, then the changes have not been applied.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
