Cloud provider


A cloud provider object in BMC Discovery represents a single provider, or vendor, of cloud services. All cloud provider objects are set up automatically by the BMC Discovery process.

To view a cloud provider

  1. From the main menu, select Explore > Data.
  1.  In the Cloud section, click Cloud Providers.
  2. Select a cloud provider from the list.
    The details of the cloud provider that you selected are displayed in a new page, as displayed in the following screenshot.

The information fields for a typical cloud provider are described in the following table:

Field name

Details

Name

Name of the cloud provider. For example, Amazon Web Services.

Short Name

Short name of the cloud provider. For example, AWS.

Console URL

Console URL of the cloud provider. For example, https://console.aws.amazon.com/console/home

Regions

Displays all the regions included in this cloud provider. Each region is identified by a Short Name, Code and Location.

For example, in this cloud provider Amazon Web Services, regions included are:

Short Name: Asia Pacific(Sydney)

Code: ap-southeast-2

Location: Sydney

All Virtual Machines

Shows all the virtual machines related to this cloud provider.

All Block Storage

Shows all the block storage related to this cloud provider.

All File Systems

Shows all the file systems related to this cloud provider.

All Software Instances

Displays all the software instances related to this cloud provider.

All Load Balancers

Displays all the load balancers information related to this cloud provider.

All Administrative Collections

Displays all the administrative collections related to this cloud provider.
