Shutting down and restarting machines in a cluster
For some maintenance tasks, you might need to restart the services on a machine; for others, you need to reboot or shut down a machine. For example, you need to:
- Restart services
- Reboot
- Shut down
For all of these options on individual machines, the cluster must have fault tolerance enabled.
To restart services on a machine in a cluster
You must be logged in as a user who is a member of the system group.
- On the Cluster Management page, select Restart Cluster Services from the Actions drop-down.
- Confirm the action.
To reboot a machine in a cluster
You must be logged in as a user who is a member of the system group.
- On the Cluster Management page, click Reboot from the Actions drop-down.
- Confirm the action.
To shut down a machine in a cluster
You must be logged in as a user who is a member of the system group.
- On the Cluster Management page, select Shutdown from the Actions drop-down.
- Confirm the action.
