Updates

Patch 1 (12.0.0.1) enables you to select where a discovery run is performed from, this could be any registered and enabled BMC Discovery Outpost or the discovery service (local appliance).

  • On the Manage > Discovery page in the UI, when you add a new discovery run, you can choose to perform the scan through an installed Outpost or discovery service. This is available only for the IP Address scan option.
  • The tw_scan_control command line utility has a new --outpost option that enables you to specify the required BMC Discovery Outpost or discovery service.
  • The TPL discovery-scan function enables you to specify the required BMC Discovery Outpost or discovery service.
  • Outpost selection options have also been added to the following endpoints in the REST API:
    • GET /discovery/runs/
    • POST {{code language="none"}}
      /discovery/runs/
      {{/code}}

The BMC Discovery Outpost selection updates mean that you cannot have a mixed cluster of 20.02 (12.0) and 20.02 (12.0) patch 1 machines.
