Cisco Unified Communications Manager

Overview

Starting from TKU November 2022 discovery of the Cisco IP Phones via Cisco Unified Communication Manager software (former Call Manager) is supported.

Compatibility

All Discovery versions starting from 12.0.

How it works

Pattern CiscoUCM triggers on the Network Device node where the model is 'UC Virtual Machine.' It then requests additional SNMP tables to get information about the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) software running on the device and the managed IP Phone devices. Based on this information pattern, creates Software Instance for local CUCM and cluster node if CUCM runs in the cluster. Also, the pattern makes SNMP Managed devices for each IP Phone managed by the local CUCM instance. See the examples of the nodes created below.

CMDB mapping

  • CUCM Software Instance is mapped to BMC_SoftwareServer.
  • CUCM Cluster is mapped to BMC_Cluster.
  • IP Phone SNMP Managed device is mapped to BMC_ComputerSystem.
