Product content TKU 2026-Mar-1

Technology Knowledge Update TKU 2026-Mar-1 contains additional product content for the 23.3, 24.1, 24.2, 24.3, and 25.2 versions of BMC Discovery.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. The appliance is restarted when product content is added to the update. You can prevent the restart, but none of the knowledge content will be installed if you do so.

The following features and enhancements are introduced within the scope of this release:

  • BMC HELIX PLATFORM: Added support for the following BMC PATROL knowledge modules (for more details, see the documentation here):
    • Google Cloud Platform ​​(DRDC1-27254).
    • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (DRDC1-20965).
    • SAP Solution Manager (DRDC1-28098).
    • Windows Service Monitoring (DRDC1-28664).
  • BMC HELIX PLATFORM: Enhanced the AppDynamics import patterns to enable granular control over node creation, preventing duplicate Host nodes and improving data quality and reconciliation. For more details, see (DRDC1-28571).
  • BMC HELIX PLATFORM: Improved the Dynatrace import process in BMC Helix Discovery to ensure that SoftwareComponent nodes are created for imported Dynatrace Services. For more details, see (DRDC1-28770).
  • CLOUD/GCP: Added a new region — Bangkok (asia-southeast3). For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28712).
  • CLOUD/GCP: Improved the GoogleCloudPlatform.ComputeEngine.DestroyOldInstanceGroupHosts pattern to prevent errors if the vm.managed_ids attribute is not set. For more details, see (DRDC1-28556).
  • CLOUD/IBM: Improved the IBM Cloud discovery by adding support for the Direct endpoint of IBM Cloud Object Storage (COS). For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28562).
  • CLOUD/OCI: Added support for Bastion instances, enabling their identification and linking to related subnets and Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs). For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-25658).
  • CMDB SYNC: Improved synchronization of Azure Application Gateway (LoadBalancerInstance) nodes to BMC CMDB. For more details, see (DRDC1-27428).
  • DISCOVERY: (Available starting from version 26.1.01) Added support for custom Certificate Authorities (CAs) in vault providers, including new REST APIs and UI enhancements. This feature enables users to specify which CAs are used for certificate validation in appliance and BMC Outpost environments. For more details, see (DRUD1-32246).
  • LOGICAL NETWORK RELATIONSHIP DISCOVERY: Starting with BMC Helix Discovery version 25.2 (on-premises) and 25.2.02 (SaaS), we have added support to discover relationships based on Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) VPN data. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-27927).
  • NETWORK: Added support for implicit scanning of Palo Alto devices managed by the Panorama management tool. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-24413).
  • NETWORK: Improved Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) peer processing to support devices whose Autonomous System Number (ASN) equals 0. For more details, see (DRDC1-27886).
  • NETWORK: Improved Lenovo XClarity Administrator device discovery to ensure successful scanning and access when using REST API credentials with basic authentication. For more details, see (DRDC1-28673).
  • NUTANIX: Enhanced consolidator data management to remove outdated virtual machine records after scanner rebuilds and credential changes from VMware vCenter to Nutanix Management Controller. For more details, see (DRDC1-27883).
  • NUTANIX: Improved maintainability by moving CVMFunctions from the Nutanix_Cluster pattern to the NutanixFunctions pattern. For more details, see (DRDC1-26379).
  • STORAGE/Cohesity (REST): Improved discovery of Cohesity systems on virtual appliances by using the unique node ID from the API as the serial value when a physical serial number is not available. For more details, see (DRDC1-28448).
  • STORAGE/Dell EMC Data Domain (REST): Improved discovery of Hardware Container and Disk Drive information for Domain DD6410 by utilizing data from the latest version of the Dell EMC Data Domain REST API. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28347).
  • STORAGE/Dell EMC PowerFlex Storage Systems: Improved disk drive discovery by using an alternative attribute to retrieve the disk name when it is not set in versions earlier than 4.0, and by utilizing REST credentials for discovering Disk Drive nodes in version 4.x and later.   • STORAGE/Dell EMC PowerFlex Storage Systems: Improved the pattern to ensure the serial number matches the value displayed in the management UI. For more details, see (DRDC1-28392).
  • STORAGE/Dell EMC PowerStore: Updated the pattern to ensure discovery of other storage components continues even if virtual volumes (vVols) or other components are not configured on the storage system. For more details, see (DRDC1-28642).
  • STORAGE/Dell EMC Unity (REST): Updated the pattern to prevent ECA errors due to the missing IP address port info. For more details, see (DRDC1-28466).
  • STORAGE/Hitachi Ops Center Administrator (REST): Updated how the World Wide Port Name (WWPN) is discovered for StorageConnection and FibreChannelPort. For more details, see (DRDC1-28677).

Defects

The following defect is fixed within the scope of this release: 

  • CLOUD/AWS: Fixed an issue with a missing serial attribute in Amazon ACM certificates. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28542).
  • CMDB SYNC: Fixed a mapping error caused by the missing cdm_name attribute during the host localhost.localdomain sync to BMC Helix CMDB. For more details, see (DRDC1-28763).
  • STORAGE/Dell EMC PowerMax Symmetrix (REST): Fixed an ECA error that would occur when there is no pool called SRP_1 in the system. For more details, see (DRDC1-28479).
  • STORAGE/HPE 3PAR: Fixed an issue where hosts were not linked to the correct HPE 3PAR StorageSystem due to duplicate VolumeIDs. For more details, see (DRDC1-28313).
  • STORAGE/Huawei OceanStor Pacific System (REST): Fixed an ECA error that would occur when Ethernet port information is empty.
  • VIRTUALIZATION: Fixed an issue where combined VMware and Nutanix scans could generate duplicate VirtualMachine nodes. For more details, see (DRDC1-28484).

Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2026-Mar-1.

Model changes

The following taxonomy update is introduced within the scope of this release:

  • TAXONOMY/HOST SIDE LINKING: Created a StorageUse relationship between Host and StorageVolume from the FC port and Storage Connection nodes. For more details, see (DRDC1-27447).
