Product content TKU 2025-Mar-1

Technology-Knowledge-Update-TKU-2025-Mar-1 contains additional product content for the 22.1, 22.2, 23.1, 23.3, 24.1, 24.2, and 24.3 versions of BMC Discovery.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. The appliance is restarted when product content is added to the update. You can prevent the restart, but none of the knowledge content will be installed if you do so.

The following features and enhancements are introduced within the scope of this release: 

  • CMDB SYNC: Added an ability to optionally modify the CTI (category, type, item) values. By default, the CTI values remain "Unknown". HEADS-UP: In TKU April 2025, we will change the default CTI values. For more details, see the documentationhere.

  • STORAGE: HEADS-UP: The "Allocated Capacity" attribute of Storage System nodes will be deprecated in TKU April 2025. Added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute in the Dell EMC PowerMax and Dell EMC SC Series patterns. It is identical to the "Allocated Capacity" attribute. Also, added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute to the IBM FlashSystem pattern.
  • CLOUD: Added the discovery_ru attribute to all supported cloud patterns to cater for the new Resource Licensing Unit feature (for more details, see (DRDC1-24921):

  • CLOUD/OCI: Added support for HardwareContainers and Clusters in different compartments for the Oracle Exadata Database Service. Also, the pattern's software key has been updated. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-24264). 
  • SOFTWARE: Added the unhashed_key attribute to the IBM Informix MaxConnect pattern. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-25678). 
  • SOFTWARE/NUTANIX: Added Host OS version for Acropolis Hypervisors by using Nutanix API (V2 and V3). For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-24748). 
  • SOFTWARE/PODMAN: Added associate processes to the Podman SoftwareContainer node and improved command execution for a non-root user. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-25669). 
  • STORAGE/Dell EMC PowerStore: Added support for the discovery of the File Systems Information and NAS Server information. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-23609).
  • STORAGE: Added Identification Timeout options to the REST API with web basic authentication credential page. Also, the pattern's software key has been updated. For more details, see the documentationhere  and (DRDC1-25256).

Defects

The following defects are fixed within the scope of this release: 

  • CLOUD/AZURE: Resolved an issue related to the increased scan time. For more details, see the documentation here and here (DRDC1-25600). 
  • CMDB SYNC: Resolved an issue with a duplicate CMDB relationship. For more details, see (DRDC1-25629). 
  • STORAGE/Dell EMC PowerVault DAS: Resolved an ECA error that occurred while processing the disk drive capacity. For more details, see (DRDC1-25745).

Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2025-Mar-1.

Model changes

Taxonomy is updated for the following: 

TAXONOMY: Resolved an issue related to the unknown link field Manager_Management_ManagedElement_StorageSystemGroup. For more details, see (DRDC1-25757).
