Product content TKU 2025-Jan-1

Technology-Knowledge-Update-TKU-2025-Jan-1 contains additional product content for the 22.1, 22.2, 23.1, 23.3, 24.1, 24.2, and 24.3 versions of BMC Discovery.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. The appliance is restarted when product content is added to the update. You can prevent the restart, but none of the knowledge content will be installed if you do so.

The following features and enhancements are introduced within the scope of this release:

CMDB SYNC: Added an ability to optionally modify the CTI (category, type, item) values. By default, the CTI values remain "Unknown". HEADS-UP: In TKU April 2025, we will change the default CTI values. For more details, see the documentation here

STORAGE: HEADS-UP: The "Allocated Capacity" attribute of Storage System nodes will be deprecated in TKU April 2025. Added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute in the Dell EMC PowerMax and Dell EMC SC Series patterns. It is identical to the "Allocated Capacity" attribute. Also, added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute to the IBM FlashSystem pattern. For more details, see (DRDC1-22592).
CLOUD: Updated versioning for the Oracle Database Server detected during AWS and OCI scans. For more details, see (DRDC1-24795 and DRDC1-24818).
CLOUD/GCP: Added a new cloud region — Queretaro, Mexico (northamerica-south1). For more details, see (DRDC1-25270) and the documentation here.
CMDB SYNC: Added a management relationship between "storage system — hosts" and "storage system group — cluster". For more details, see (DRDC1-24674).
NETWORK DEVICES: Created edge connectivity links for Aruba access points. For more details, see (DRDC1-22545).
NETWORK DEVICES: Improved LLDP connectivity for Cisco Meraki devices discovered implicitly through the API. For more details, see (DRDC1-24727).
STORAGE: Added Identification Timeout Options to the Nimble Storage and Pure Storage FlashBlade Web API credential pages. For more details, see (DRDC1-23324 and DRDC1-25065).
STORAGE: Added support for Hitachi Ops Center Administrator (REST). For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-24658).
STORAGE: Added support for HPE Alletra Storage Device (SNMP). For more details, see (DRDC1-25146).
STORAGE: Dell EMC PowerMax: Updated the pattern to create a Storage Device from the local system (where Unisphere is installed). For more details, see (DRDC1-25139).
STORAGE: Hitachi E, F, G Series Storage Systems (REST): Added Hitachi REST Web API (session authentication) to properly discover a storage system name. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-24028).
STORAGE: Sun Storage Tek Common Array Manager: Updated the pattern to retrieve a software instance version from the Sun Storage Common Array Manager package (for Windows) and SUNWstkcamcd package (for UNIX). For more details, see (DRDC1-25165).

Defects

The following defect is fixed within the scope of this release:

CMDB SYNC: Resolved an issue with a CMDB.CloudService. For more details, see (DRDC1-25212).

Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2025-Jan-1.
