Hitachi Ops Center Administrator (REST)
Hitachi Storage Systems are discovered through the Hitachi Ops Center Administrator REST API. When the Hitachi Ops Center Administrator is detected, a storage device is created. Then, this storage device triggers the pattern responsible for discovering all storage systems managed by the Ops Center.
Prerequisites
To discover Hitachi Storage Systems, make sure that you have the following configurations:
- BMC Discovery version 12.0 or later.
- A user account to authenticate with Hitachi Ops Center Administrator or Hitachi Ops Center Common Service.
- Port 20961 to be added to the list of permitted HTTPS ports for scanning. To do so:
- Navigate to Administration > Discovery Configuration.
- In the HTTPS Ports field, add 20961 (for multiple values, use a comma-separated list).
To run a scan
- Create a credential type Hitachi Ops Center Administrator REST API by providing the Hitachi Ops Center Administrator or Common Services user account.
- To authenticate with:
- Hitachi Ops Center Administrator: set the Common Service Authentication to No and provide the username and password in the General section
or - Hitachi Ops Center Common Service: set the Common Service Authentication to Yes and provide the hostname, username, and password in the Hitachi Ops Center Common Services section.
- Hitachi Ops Center Administrator: set the Common Service Authentication to No and provide the username and password in the General section
- Directly scan the IP address of the Hitachi Ops Center Administrator appliance.
