Hitachi E, F, G Series Storage Systems (REST)
Hitachi E, F, and G Series storage systems are discovered via Hitachi Configuration Manager which is either embedded or installed independently on a Windows or Linux Server. The pattern discovers entities of Hitachi E, F, and G Series storage systems by scanning the storage device or the host on which the embedded Hitachi Configuration Manager is installed.
Prerequisites
The management software is either installed on a standalone server or embedded. You can use either of the following methods depending on your environment.
Embedded Hitachi REST API
The following information is required to access the embedded Hitachi REST API:
- Credential Type:
- either RESTful Web API with basic authentication (suitable for both standalone and embedded configuration manager)
- or Hitachi REST Web API (session authentication) (only available for an embedded configuration manager).
- Hitachi Storage System IP address.
- Username and password that is used to access the Hitachi REST API

Configuring the Hitachi Configuration Manager on a Windows Host
- Configure the Discovery Windows proxy to connect to the Windows host.
- Configure credentials for the Windows Host.
- Configure the RESTful Web API with basic authentication credentials:
- Windows Host IP address
- Login and password that will be used for the connection to the Hitachi Configuration Manager
- Protocol HTTP
Configuring the Hitachi Configuration Manager on a Linux Host
- Configure SSH credentials for the Linux Host.
- Configure the RESTful Web API with basic authentication credentials:
- Windows Host IP address
- Login and Password that will be used for the connection to the Hitachi Configuration Manager
- Protocol HTTP
