HPE Alletra MP B10000 (REST)

HPE Alletra MP B10000 systems are discovered through the embedded Web Services API v3. As part of routine discovery, when the HPE Alletra MP B10000 system is encountered, BMC Discovery creates a storage device node and triggers the pattern. The pattern continues the discovery by using further REST API requests. After discovered, the storage entities are modeled in BMC Discovery.

Prerequisites

• Requires BMC Discovery v12.0 and higher.
• HPE Alletra MP B10000 user account with REST API access with at least read-only privilege.
• Port 443 is added to the list of HTTPS ports by navigating to Administration → Discovery Configuration.

Procedure

Initial setup

1. Navigate to Manage → Credentials.
2. Add new credentials of the type HPE Alletra MP REST API.
3. Provide the user account with REST API access.
4. Add port 443.
5. Apply your changes.

Test credentials

To prevent discovery issues due to invalid credentials, it is recommended to test your credentials before running a scan:

1. Navigate to Manage → Credentials.
2. Click the Action → Test.
3. In the Test URL field, type https://<IP> or <HOSTNAME>:<PORT>/api/v3/systems. The default port value is 443.
4. Click Test. 

If your test is successful, scan the IP Address of the HPE Alletra MP B10000 system.
