Configure the XMS Embedded SMI-S Provider
This page provides detailed information and procedure for:
- Adding a user to the SMI-S Provider
- Adding the previously created user to the XtremIO Management Server
Adding a user to the SMI-S Provider
- Access the ECOM Administration Web Server: https://<xms-ip-host>:5989/ecomconfig, where <xms-ip-host> is the IP address of the XtremIO Management Server.
- Log in using:
- Username: admin
- Password: #1Password
- Click Submit.
- Click Add User
- Create a user with the Monitor role.
- Uncheck the User must change password at next logon option.
- Click Add User.
When adding a user in a multi-cluster environment, perform the following additional steps:
- From the ECOM Administration page, click Remote Resource Authentication Setup.
- Click Add User.
- Provide the User Name and Password.
- Click Add User.
Adding the previously created user to the XtremIO Management Server
- Connect to the XtremIO Storage Management Application or Web App: https://<xms-ip-host>/xtremapp/index.html, where <xms-ip-host> is the IP address of the XtremIO Management Server.
- Go to System Administration and click Security.
- Add the SMI-S User previously created in the ECOM Administration.
- In the left pane, click Users Administration
- Click Add
- Select the Read-Only role
- Enter the name of the previously created user (for example smisuser)
- Provide the authentication method (for example By Password)
- Uncheck Inactivity timeout.
- Click OK.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
