HPE GreenLake For File Storage (REST)
HPE GreenLake storage systems are discovered using the HPE GreenLake for File REST API. As part of routine discovery, when a HPE GreenLake for File Storage cluster is discovered, BMC Discovery creates a Storage Device and triggers the pattern that discovers the storage components. The pattern continues the discovery using further REST API requests. Once discovered, the storage entities are modeled in BMC Discovery.
Prerequisites
- BMC Discovery v12.0 and higher.
- A user account with access to the cluster (or HPE File Management Service).
- Port 443 added to the list of HTTPS ports under “Administration → Discovery Configuration.
Procedure
Initial setup
- Go to “Manage → Credentials”,
- Add new credentials of type “HPE GreenLake for File REST API”
- Provide the user account with REST API access
- Add port 443
- Click Apply.
Test credentials
To prevent discovery issues due to invalid credentials, it is recommended to test your credentials before running a scan:
- Go to “Manage → Credentials”
- Click the "Action → Test" menu next to the credentials entry
- In the Test URL field, type https://<IP> or <HOSTNAME>:<PORT>/api/clusters/. Port is 443 by default
- Click Test.
If your test is successful, scan the IP Address of the HPE GreenLake for File cluster.
