Cisco HyperFlex

Cisco HyperFlex is a software-defined storage with the powerful Cisco HyperFlex HX Data Platform software. The Cisco HyperFlex HX Data Platform combines the cluster’s storage devices into a single distributed, multitier, object-based data store. It makes this data available through the file system protocols and mechanisms needed by the higher-level hypervisors, virtual machines, and containers. Performance scales linearly as you scale the cluster because all components contribute both processing and storage capacity to the cluster

Cisco HyperFlex storage pattern triggers on Cisco HyperFlex HX Data Platform Controller SI which should have hypervisor_id and cluster_id attributes. The commands are executed to retrieve the cluster/host details and then each HyperFlex cluster is modeled as a Storage System in BMC Discovery. The storage discovery pattern continues discovery of the storage entity using further requests to discover the associated storage components.

Prerequisites

  • BMC Discovery v11.3  or higher.
  • SSH access to Controller hosts.
  • vCenter credentials for the relevant Cluster.
  • BMC Discovery user should have sufficient rights to run stcli and hxcli commands on controller hosts.
