In the Spotlight November 2008

In November TKU we focused on extending our range of IBM products, including the addition of 2 ITCAM products, and we released a Beta pattern which provides new features for HP-UX platforms. Furthermore, we focused on a generic range of products, including Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server.

We are showcasing 3 of these products.

IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for WebSphere and J2EE

The peculiarity of this pattern lies in its ability to infer a relationship between the Server and the Data Collector, as you can see in the following ScreenShots.

HP Partitions

We introduced support for HP Partitions. The pattern that provides this feature is currently released as a Beta download, and can be retrieved at this page.

The current functionality of the pattern allows it to recognize an HP Partition, create an appropriate Host Container, and add that Partition to the Container.

HP Partitions in a Host Container view

HPPartitionsContainer.jpeg

This ScreenShot provides a view of an HP Partition Host Container. As you can see, this particular Container is populated with 4 different Hosts, each representing a different HP Partition on the Host that contains them.

This ScreenShot represents an actual HP Partition, visualized as a Host. As you can see, a link to the Container, representing the physical host, is present in this view. The link can be clicked on, and it will lead to the Host Container view, where a user can then explore all the other Partitions present on the Host.

Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server

This comprehensive pattern handles the 3 different major components of Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server: the Application Server, the Domain Administration Server, and the Node Agent.

This page showcases 2 of these components.
