In the Spotlight May 2010
In May TKU we have directed our efforts on extending Symantec Inventory Solution and Symantec Workflow models. Now both of these products create Business Application Instances, based on the basic components of Symantec Management Platform.

The following scheme shows the whole picture of Symantec Inventory Solution and Symantec Workflow environments; illustrates communications and dependencies between the components.
Another component, which is of interest and which is now covered by BMC Atrium Discovery is Quest Spotlight. A number of Quest Spotlight products are available. Some, such as Quest Spotlight on Windows, may come free with one of the others. They can be installed in the same installation folder as another Quest Spotlight product or in a new folder. Where several products (or components) are installed in the same folder, they share a common trigger process (spotlight.exe). A spotlight.exe executable from one Quest Spotlight installation may get updated by the installation of another Quest Spotlight component into the same installation folder. A Detail node is created for each installed Quest Spotlight component linked to a generic Quest Spotlight Software Instance.
