In TKU June 2011 we have developed new pattern modules for some IBM products and enhanced existing ones. One of such enhanced pattern module is IBM Cognos Business Intelligence. Furthermore a brand new pattern module was developed for the IBM Cognos BI Metrics Server

IBM Cognos Business Intelligence can be deployed in distributed environment on multiple hosts. This kind of setup can be identified and modeled with this pattern.

The pattern module creates Software Instances for:
 Main SI:

  • IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Server

Components:

  • IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Gateway
  • IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Application Services
  • IBM Cognos Content Manager

The pattern uses file versioning method and models Software Instances on both the Windows and UNIX platforms.

It also models the Client-Server Communication and Dependency relationships with various components of IBM Cognos Business Intelligence.
