In TKU Jul 2011 we have developed new pattern modules for certain products and enhanced existing ones. One of such enhancement in this release is done for BMC Remedy AR System.

The pattern module is now capable of modeling AR Server Group. AR Server group is simply cluster of AR System Servers which are communicating to a common Database Server, this kind of deployment provides load balancing with fail safe operations for business processes which are based on those AR System Servers.
The pattern module verifies presence of AR Server Group with a configuration file 'ar.cfg' and also obtains information required for further modeling like, other members of AR Server Group which can be,

  • BMC Remedy AR System Server SI(s) and
  • a Database Server SI

These members are added to the containment of 'BMC Remedy AR System' SI with two extra attributes,

  • ars_group A Boolean, true if it is AR Server Group
  • hosted_on List of machines on which this AR Server Group is configured.

Here is a example of modeled software instance of BMC Remedy AR System generated with this pattern.
