In the Spotlight January 2013

In TKU January 2013 we have added a number of new patterns. One of these new pattern modules is Oracle GoldenGate.

The Oracle GoldenGate pattern module identifies running software instance of Oracle GoldenGate on UNIX platforms and models it. In this pattern, version of the product is obtained using the file versioning method only as this is the method that does not require additional user privileges. The pattern also identifies related Oracle Database instance and creates a communcation relationship to it.

The image below is an example of modeled software instance of Oracle GoldenGate generated with this pattern.

As you can see from the screenshots above and below, a Client-Server communication relationship has also been established between the Oracle GoldenGate SI and Oracle Database Server:

Pattern is also able to find a related Oracle GoldenGate SI on a remote host and create a relationship between the related Oracle GoldenGate SIs as shown on the above image.

Version information should be extracted from a reporting file. The contents of this file look like this:

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
