In the Spotlight January 2012


In TKU January 2012 we have updated patterns for several IBM products, among which are IBM Tivoli Service Request Manager, IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager, IBM Maximo Asset Management. Besides a new IBM Tivoli Service Automation Manager pattern module has beed developed which communicates with all above products.

IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager pattern now discovers and models much more components:

  • IBM TPM Agent Manager;
  • IBM TPM Deployment Engine;
  • IBM TPM for Dynamic Content Delivery;
  • IBM TPM for Job Management Service Federation;
  • IBM TPM for OS Deployment;

IBM TPM for OS Deployment architecture consists of the following Software Instances:

  • IBM TPM for OS Deployment Database Gateway;
  • IBM TPM for OS Deployment Server;
  • IBM TPM for OS Deployment Web Interface Extension;

IBM Tivoli Service Request Manager can be discovered on Windows and Unix platforms since the current release.

IBM Tivoli Service Automation Manager product can be installed either on a single host or can communicate with remote IBM Directory Server and IBM DB2 Server installations as a part of IBM Maximo Asset Management Middleware. Besides IBM Tivoli Service Automation Manager scripts it consists of the following products:

  • IBM Maximo Asset Management Business Application instance;
  • IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager;
  • IBM Tivoli Service Request Manager

The BAI pattern sets Containment links with the above components. It is also important to mention that IBM Tivoli Service Request Manager, IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager and IBM Tivoli Service Automation Manager patterns create Communication relationships with IBM Maximo Asset Management components as they are tightly related.
