In TKU February 2011 a significant update was made to IBM OmniFind Discovery Edition

The pattern now creates a Software Instance for each IBM OmniFind Discovery Edition Server. It is highly likely there will be only be one per host, but the pattern will handle the case where two IBM OmniFind Discovery Edition Servers exist in two separate installation roots.

Each IBM OmniFind Discovery Edition Server instance can have multiple deployments and multiple extensions. A separate Software Instance is created for each deployment and each extensions and they are all linked to the main server IBM OmniFind Discovery Edition Server Software Instance

All deployments and extensions are versioned separately where possible, so a user can easily see where the version of an add on differs from the version of the main IBM OmniFind Discovery Edition Server Software Instance.
