Release highlights

In this release, we are delivering:

Cloud

  • AWS: AWS Direct Connect CloudResource node kind has been changed to NetworkService. For more details, see (DRDC1-23046) and the documentation here.
  • AZURE: Added new Azure cloud regions (for more details, see (DRDC1-23902) and the documentation here):
    • mexico central — Querétaro State
    • spain central — Madrid
  • AZURE: Added support for Azure Front Door. For more details, see (DRDC1-22345) and the documentation here.
  • AZURE: Added support for Azure Express Route deep discovery. For more details, see (DRDC1-23046) and the documentation here.
  • AZURE: Added support for Azure Peering deep discovery. Hence, Peerings for VNETs are modeled as NetworkServices and linked to dedicated Virtual Networks. For more details, see (DRDC1-23047) and the documentation here.
  • AZURE: Added support for custom image classification. For more details, see (DRDC1-23113).
  • VAULT: Added support for Azure Recovery Services Vault deep discovery. For more details, see (DRDC1-23050) and the documentation here.

CMDB sync

  • Enhanced BMC CMDB sync mapping (for more details, see (DRDC1-23219) and the documentation here):

    • Updated default sync mappings for Namespace, Deployment, and LoadBalancerService to include other hierarchical items in the name attribute (DRDC1-23484).
    • Added an ability to optionally modify the CTI (category, type, item) values. By default, the CTI values remain "Unknown". HEADS-UP: In 6 or 12 months, we will change the default CTI values. For more details, see (DRDC1-23486).
  •  Introduced multiple improvements to Kubernetes Namespaces, Deployments, and related Tags synchronization (for more details, see (DRDC1-23311):
    • Deployment nodes with no relations to Pods are synced to BMC CMDB.
    • Tags are assigned to all Deployment nodes (not only Cloud ones).
    • Tags are synced for Namespace nodes.
    • HEADS-UP: The major version of the CMDB.Namespace_AdminDomain.Namespace_AdminDomain pattern is changed.
    • HEADS-UP: CMDB.Namespace_Deployment_ConcreteCollection.Namespace_Deployment_ConcreteCollection is replaced with the CMDB.Pod_Deployment_ConcreteCollection.Pod_Deployment_ConcreteCollection pattern.

Network devices

  • Added an admin_status attribute for network interfaces. For more details, see (DRDC1-22940).
  • Added support for the discovery of the hardware components details for Hewlett-Packard switches (for more details, see (DRDC1-21713) and the documentation here).

Storage

  • Added a new "Dell EMC PowerScale REST API" credential type for the EMC Isilon/PowerScale pattern. For more details, see (DRDC1-23436, DRDC1-23410) and the documentation here.
  • Added a new pattern — Dell EMC VPLEX Metro Storage (REST). For more details, see (DRDC1-23029) and the documentation here.
  • Added support for the discovery of Dell EMC Unity Storage Systems through REST API. For more details, see (DRDC1-19670) and the documentation here.
  • EMCVplexStartpar: Updated the pattern trigger with a new process name to support the discovery of the VPLEX storage after upgrading to v6.2 SP1. For more details, see (DRDC1-23693).
  • HEADS-UP: The "Allocated Capacity" attribute of Storage System nodes will be deprecated in TKU March 2025. Added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute in the Dell EMC PowerMax and Dell EMC SC Series patterns. It is identical to the "Allocated Capacity" attribute. Also, added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute to the IBM FlashSystem pattern. For more details, see (DRDC1-22592).
