Product content TKU 2024-Aug-1

Technology-Knowledge-Update-TKU-2024-Aug-1 contains additional product content for the 21.3, 22.1, 22.2, 23.1, 23.3, 24.1, and 24.2 versions of BMC Discovery.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. The appliance is restarted when product content is added to the update. You can prevent the restart, but none of the knowledge content will be installed if you do so.

CLOUD/KUBERNETES: NOTE: The following features will be available only for BMC Discovery version 24.3 and later. Added support for the Kubernetes automatic scan through the following scans (for more details, see the documentation here):

CMDB SYNC: Added an ability to optionally modify the CTI (category, type, item) values. By default, the CTI values remain "Unknown". HEADS-UP: In 6 or 12 months, we will change the default CTI values. For more details, see (DRDC1-23486) and the documentation here

CMDB SYNC: Added OOTB templates of sync mapping extensions for Azure Key Vault, Azure Managed Disks, Azure Storage File Shares, and container images. For more details, see (DRDC1-23485) and the documentation here.
CMDB SYNC: Improved the CMDB TLS Detail Document to sync IPsec Certificates. For more details, see (DRDC1-24040) and the documentation here.
CMDB SYNC: Introduced multiple improvements to Kubernetes (for more details, see (DRDC1-23311):
- HEADS-UP: The major version of the CMDB.Namespace_AdminDomain.Namespace_AdminDomain pattern is changed.
- HEADS-UP: CMDB.Namespace_Deployment_ConcreteCollection.Namespace_Deployment_ConcreteCollection is replaced with the CMDB.Pod_Deployment_ConcreteCollection.Pod_Deployment_ConcreteCollection pattern.

NETWORK DEVICES: Added support for discovering POLYCOM Trio IP Phones through REST API with basic authentication. For more details, see (DRDC1-22493) and the documentation here.

STORAGE: Dell EMC RecoverPoint: Added support for API version 5+ for Recover Point. For more details, see (DRDC1-23282) and the documentation here.
STORAGE: Huawei REST pattern: Added a Mirror relationship between Volumes. For more details, see (DRDC1-23541) and the documentation here.
STORAGE: Netapp SolidFire: Improved the identification system on the landing page to match the word "solidfire" in lowercase or uppercase to correctly identify the system. For more details, see (DRDC1-23891) and the documentation here.
STORAGE: Pure Storage FlashArray Discovered Information (REST): Updated the pattern to correctly display the WWPN value of the FC ports. For more details, see (DRDC1-24056) and the documentation here.
STORAGE: The "Allocated Capacity" attribute of Storage System nodes will be deprecated in TKU March 2025. Added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute in the Dell EMC PowerMax and Dell EMC SC Series patterns. It is identical to the "Allocated Capacity" attribute. Also, added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute to the IBM FlashSystem pattern. For more details, see (DRDC1-22592).

Defects

The following defects are fixed within the scope of this release:

CLOUD/AWS: Fixed an issue with AWS EC2 AutoScaling Group removal. For more details, see (DRDC1-24070).
CLOUD/AZURE: Fixed an ECA error in the Azure VM pattern related to a missing Debian Linux version. For more details, see (DRDC1-23988).
STORAGE: Dell EMC PowerStore Storage System: Fixed the requests to get the volumes (and their capacity) and the capacity of the storage pools on condition that the API correctly generates metrics. For more details, see (DRDC1-23696).
STORAGE: Fixed an ECA error when scanning a Dell EMC Unity storage system. For more details, see (DRDC1-24162).

Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2024-Aug-1.

Model changes

Taxonomy is updated for the following:

TAXONOMY: Added a NetworkDevice node for ALB controllers. For more details, see (DRDC1-23301).
TAXONOMY: Added a new "High Availability" relationship to represent individual physical Veritas DR cluster nodes existing in "High-Availability Pair" (HA Pair). For more details, see (DRDC1-23554).
TAXONOMY: STORAGE: Added a relationship between mirrored storage volumes, which prevents data completeness issues. For more details, see (DRDC1-23788).
